Engines roar, tires roll, paint shines, and a coastal breeze fills the air. What event fills this description? None other than Cruisin’ the Coast! A full week of seeing classic, cool, and unique rides cruising alongside the beach. There’s no better time to check out cars you recognize from childhood or even a car you dream of having than the brisk October temps, especially since it tends to stay relatively warm until November on the Mississippi Coast.

This was the first year I participated in the festivities of Cruisin’ the Coast, after only enjoying the cars from the side of Highway 90 last year, and it was amazing! I can’t wait to see more of the events next year!

The first event I attended was the Biloxi Block Party at the Biloxi Town Green across from the Hard Rock Casino & Hotel. I didn’t get to the event until the end, so I didn’t get to experience it to its full potential, but I enjoyed seeing all of the cars up close. It even gave me a chance to practice some car photography. Leaving the Biloxi Town Green, I walked around town heading back to the car, and was able to appreciate the cars driving down the road as well as those parked.

The best part of Cruisin’ the Coast, in my opinion, was walking through downtown Ocean Springs. The whole downtown area is closed to through traffic, and it turned into a massive car show. People park all over the town and walk through the seemingly endless rows of cars sitting on many streets. The downtown area was thriving with people sitting outdoors at restaurants and watching the classic and unique cars roll down the street. I feel like I could’ve sat out there all day and enjoyed each interesting vehicle.

One thing about me is that I’m going to take way too many photos. Since I usually don’t take car photos, I decided to experiment a bit. Not only did I take photos of entire cars so I can look back at these cars that I liked, but I also took detail shots of cars, as well as more editorial-looking shots.

If you’ve never been to Cruisin’ the Coast, I highly recommend it. There is something to do every day, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast is filled with great restaurants and fun things to do with the family. You can meet so many interesting people in this area. The 2025 Crusin’ the Coast had over 10,000 registered cars from 42 states and 4 countries. Plan to visit the Mississippi Gulf Coast October 4-10, 2026, and see some classic cars and unique rides, and don’t miss the 30th anniversary of Cruisin’ the Coast!
